Apple has officially launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max avail on 18 th September in India . Get major upgrades in camera technology, battery life, performance and AI-powered features. Both models run on Apple’s latest A 20 Pro chip and come with iOS 27, a brighter ProMotion display, a redesigned 48 MP camera system and improved charging.
Display:
The iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max comes with a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. Both models support Apple’s ProMotion technology with adaptive refresh rates of up to 120Hz, along with Always-On display and Dynamic Island.
Apple has also increased outdoor visibility, with peak outdoor brightness reaching 3,000 nits. The displays support HDR, True Tone and the P3 wide colour gamut. Both phones also feature an anti-reflective coating and Ceramic Shield 2 protection.
For users who watch movies, edit photos or play graphics-intensive games, the larger 6.9-inch screen on the iPhone 18 Pro Max provides more viewing space, while the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro is easier to handle.
Camera:
Camera upgrade are one of the biggest highlights of the iPhone 18 Pro series. Both models feature a 48MP Pro Fusion camera system, including a 48MP main camera with a new variable aperture. The aperture can switch between f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8 and f/4.0, giving users greater control over exposure, depth of field and low-light photography.The 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera offers a 120-degree field of view, while the 48MP Fusion Telephoto camera provides 4x optical telephoto and up to 8x optical-quality zoom. Digital zoom can reach 40x.
Apple has also added Pro controls for aperture, shutter speed, white balance and histogram viewing. Video recording supports up to 4K Dolby Vision at 120fps, while ProRes recording can reach 4K at 120fps with external recording.For selfies and video calls, both phones feature an 18MP Center Stage front camera with autofocus, improved stabilization and Centre Stage support.
Battery and Charging:
Battery life has received a significant upgrade. Apple rates the iPhone 18 Pro for up to 23 hours of typical use and up to 34 hours of video playback. The iPhone 18 Pro Max offers up to 29 hours of typical use and 43 hours of video playback.Both models support faster wired charging, reaching up to 50 percent in around 15 minutes with a compatible 60W or higher adapter and USB-C cable. MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging are supported at up to 25W.
Chip and Performance:
Powering both model has Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, featuring a six-core CPU, seven-core GPU with Neural Accelerators and a dual 16-core Neural Engine. Hardware-accelerated ray tracing is also supported.The combination of the A20 Pro and Apple’s next-generation vapor chamber is designed to deliver better sustained performance during demanding workloads such as gaming, video editing, photography and AI processing.
The phones also run iOS 27, with Apple’s latest Apple Intelligence features and Siri AI. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, 5G and Apple’s C2 cellular modem.
